Meet Mr. Macdonald

As an experienced educator, Mr. Temple Macdonald, Principal, supervises the operation of the school and maintains the school climate aiming to foster the spiritual, academic, social, and emotional development of our students. Mr. Macdonald believes that everyone is a leader, and everyone is leading all the time. He feels students can succeed if they focus on the following four pillars of success discussed in the long-standing Jesuit Leadership Philosophy author Chris Lowney:

Self-Awareness: Ability to understand personal strengths, weaknesses, and values

Ingenuity: Ability to confidently innovate and adapt if necessary to embrace a ever-changing world

Love: Ability to engage others with a positive, loving attitude

Heroism: Ability to energize themselves and others through big ambitions

Mr. Macdonald joined St. John the Evangelist School in August 2012 as the Physical Education Teacher and Extended Day Director. Prior to joining SJES, he taught at the army base in Fort Belvoir and spent multiple years in the public school system teaching Math and French Immersion.

Mr. Macdonald earned a Bachelors from Campbellsville University and he holds a Masters in Administration and Supervision from Marymount University. Aside from teaching, Mr. Macdonald enjoys reading, time with family, and all activities outdoors.
