Meet Mr. MacQueeney

As an experienced English teacher, Thomas Patrick MacQueeney teaches language art skills to the middle school students. Mr. MacQueeney also sponsors the chess and soccer clubs. MacQueeney’s strengths are teaching writing and helping students with analyzing literature. Mr. MacQueeney believes all students can learn and learning should be interesting, relevant to life, and somewhat rigorous. He believes in laughter to help get through the days. He believes books are the greatest teachers. We must encourage more reading.

Mr. MacQueeney joined St. John the Evangelist School in August 2014. Prior to joining SJES, he worked at Joplin High School, Joplin MO; Miami High School, Miami, OK; and Lin-Wood High School, Lincoln, NH.

MacQueeney earned a Bachelor of Arts from Mary Washington University and Master of Arts degree from Oklahoma University. He holds a Postgraduate Professional License in English.

Aside from teaching, Mr. MacQueeney’s enjoys reading, creative writing, stained glass, woodworking, hiking, biking, kayaking, and snowboarding.
