Since 1974, National Catholic Schools Week is the annual celebration of Catholic education in the United States. It starts the last Sunday in January and runs all week, which in 2021 is January 31 – February 6. The theme for National Catholic Schools Week 2021 is “Catholic Schools: Faith. Excellence. Service.”

Daily activities have been scheduled throughout the week in celebration of Catholic Schools Week.

Sunday – Celebrating Our Parish

Sunday, January 31 at 10:45 am Mass will be held in honor of Saint John School families, alumni, and all who have supported us on our journey. Students can attend in uniform. For those who are unable to attend this special Mass in person, it will be live-streamed so that all may be able to join us in celebrating.

Monday – Celebrating Our Community

Dress down day, students may wear their favorite sports team jersey or colors.

Students in 5th-8th grade will make rosaries to give to Religious Ed. and First Communion students.

Students in K-4th will make rosary bracelets to distribute to other children.

Tuesday – Celebrating Our Students

Dress down day, Wacky Day

Movie & Popcorn

Wednesday – Celebrating Vocations

Dress down day, Professions (doctor, lawyer, astronaut, teacher)

K-5th grade will be having one or two parents talk about their jobs via a Zoom call.

Middle School will play life-sized game of Life. Designated teachers will play the pieces and the students will direct them on which path to take.

Thursday – Celebrating Family

Dress down day, Twin Day

Students will play Pictionary or Charades with their class.

Celebrating Our Teachers & Staff

Dress down day, wear school colors (maroon & grey)

Teachers and staff will be provided with breakfast and treats

Middle school students will play Win Lose or Draw virtually, teachers vs students

K-5th will play Name that Tune, Hangman, or Win Lose or Draw.

Saturday – Celebrating Our School

Our school will hold an Open House from 9-11 am. Interested families are encouraged to register for one of four sessions being offered. Register Here.
