Catholic Schools Week 2026

Saint John the Evangelist: United in Faith and Community

Catholic Schools Week 2026
Saint John the Evangelist School

Please join us for our annual celebration of National Catholic Schools Week, beginning Sunday, January 25. This year’s theme, Catholic Schools: United in Faith and Community, reflects our commitment to faith formation, academic excellence, and service. Throughout the week, students will participate in activities that celebrate the people and values that make Saint John the Evangelist Catholic School a special place to learn and grow.

Sunday, January 25 — Catholic Schools: In Our Parish

Catholic Schools Week begins as we gather in worship with our parish community. Students are invited to wear their school uniform to Mass as a visible sign of our shared faith. School families will bring forward the gifts, and students will share brief remarks at the conclusion of Mass, highlighting the strong partnership between Saint John the Evangelist Parish and School.

Monday, January 26 — Catholic Schools: In Our Community

Students are invited to dress in wacky attire as we celebrate the joy and unity of our school community. In addition to the fun, students will participate in a sock-and-mitten drive and create thank-you cards for our parish priests and volunteers. Through these activities, students are reminded that a strong community is built through both joy and service to others.

Tuesday, January 27 — Catholic Schools: In Our Students

This day celebrates the heart of our school—our students. Students may wear cozy attire along with their class color shirt (sweatpants or flannel pants; no leggings or pajamas). Hot cocoa and popcorn will be provided, and classes may choose to enjoy a movie together as part of a relaxed and joyful day.

Wednesday, January 28 — Catholic Schools: In Our Nation

Many Gifts One Nation Day of Giving January 28-29, 2026
Saint John the Evangelist School

Students may wear a jersey representing their favorite sports team as we celebrate teamwork, sportsmanship, and school spirit. Weather permitting, students will enjoy extra recess, and the day will include a friendly volleyball match between 8th-grade students and faculty.

This day also marks “Many Gifts, One Nation: A Day of Giving to Catholic Schools,” an opportunity for families and supporters to invest in Catholic education and our school community. Our goal this year is $20,000, which will support faith formation, enhance instructional resources, and continue improvements to our school facilities. We invite our friends, families, and supporters to consider making a tax-deductible gift. Every contribution, no matter the size, makes a meaningful difference and is deeply appreciated.

Thursday, January 29 — Catholic Schools: In Our Vocations

Students are invited to dress as saints, wear religious attire (saint socks/T-shirts), or religious accessories as we reflect on God’s call in our lives. Guest speakers will visit to share about vocations and life in the seminary, encouraging students to prayerfully consider how God may be calling them to serve the Church and the world.

Friday, January 30 — Catholic Schools: In Our Families

We celebrate the vital role families play in our school community. Students should dress in their Sunday best (no jeans or tennis shoes). Following the school-wide Mass, Students of the Month will be recognized. Family photos will be displayed in the hallways, and students will enjoy time together playing board games and sharing snacks.

Saturday, January 31 — Catholic Schools: In Our Faculty, Staff, and Volunteers

Catholic Schools Week concludes with an Open House for prospective families. Student-led tours will highlight the many ways our faculty, staff, and volunteers support student growth and create a welcoming, faith-filled learning environment at Saint John the Evangelist Catholic School.
