Preschool Uniforms
Students will be required to wear the SJEP dress uniform/PE uniform. The dress code provides a standard for our students, fostering an environment conducive to learning and respectful behavior. PE uniforms are purchased online at Lands’ End. The preschool dress code is the same as in kindergarten. Our preferred school number is 900149311. Dress uniforms
Carpool Instructions
Preschool Carpool Instructions Arrival We request parents to enter via Winchester Street, make a sharp left in front of the Parish Office building, and slowly proceed down in a single file to form a line in front of the Preschool building. Saint John the Evangelist Preschool is operated by Saint John the Evangelist School and is affiliated with Saint John the Evangelist Parish. Saint John Preschool is accredited by the Virginia Catholic Education Association. Our preschool program promotes each child’s spiritual, emotional, intellectual, physical, and social growth. Preschool Registration
Applications for the current school year are being accepted. We have transitioned to an online admissions and registration process. Registration will open on February 5, 2024, for the 2024-2025 school year and is on a first-come, first-serve basis. Upon acceptance to our program, a written confirmation regarding your child’s placement will be sent with a link to complete
Preschool Extended Day
An extended preschool day is offered to Saint John Preschool students from 7 to 8 a.m. (with advance notice) and from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. The parents provide a student’s packed lunch and afternoon snack for the afternoon session. The teachers provide supervised lunch, rest time, outdoor play, crafts, an afternoon snack, and fun!
Preschool Curriculum
The Diocesan Preschool curriculum is planned to enhance the total development of the growing child and is organized sequentially following a theme or unit. Our teachers are qualified and nurturing with ongoing yearly enrichment training. Our educational aim is to make each learning activity for your child fun, game-like, developmentally appropriate, challenging but not frustrating,
