Greetings,

I wanted to alert our school community that on Friday, March 19, 2021, the Center for Disease Control (CDC) released newly revised recommendations.  These are the revisions that apply to our school:  

• Revised physical distancing recommendations to reflect at least 3 feet between students in classrooms and provide clearer guidance when a greater distance (such as 6 feet) is recommended.
• Removed recommendation for physical barriers.

As a result of these revisions, SJES will remove the desk shields at this time in all classrooms.  SJES is also permitted to shorten the social distancing of students to 3 feet where necessary.  These changes will go into effect Thursday, March 25, 2021.  We have made the necessary adjustments in our SJES reopening plan and the document has been re-submitted to the Virginia Council for Private Education (VCPE).
