St. John the Evangelist: A Community of Faith, Excellence, and Service.
Please join us for our annual celebration of National Catholic Schools Week, beginning Sunday, January 30. The theme “Catholic Schools: Faith. Excellence. Service.” highlights our focus on faith development, academic excellence, and dedication to community service. We’ve planned a variety of events to show how we’re doing this as a community at St. John the Evangelist.
Sunday, January 30: Celebrating Our Parish
Sunday, Jan. 30 we celebrate our Parish by devoting a Mass to Catholic education! Our students may represent the school by wearing their uniforms to mass. Students participate in the liturgy of the Word and will bring up the gifts. We thank the parishioners for their support.
Monday, January 31: Celebrating Our Community
Twin Day. To encourage a sense of community, students may dress in matching outfits with a friend.
Students will also work on a project to recognize parents and supporters. The projects will be displayed in the school.
Tuesday, February 1: Celebrating Our Students
Wacky Day. Without our children-the heart of St. John the Evangelist School-where would we be? On this day students wear a mismatching assortment of clothes and accessories.
Students will also get to enjoy a movie in the afternoon.
Day of Giving. We are excited to once again partner with FACTS and the NCEA to be part of Many Gifts, One Nation: A Day of Giving to Catholic Schools. We encourage you to help our school and community by participating with us starting at Noon on Feb. 1, 2022! Donations received will go towards facility and technology upgrades.
Wednesday, February 2: Celebrating the Nation
Patriotic Day. Students may dress in patriotic colors. White signifies innocence and purity. Red signifies valor and strength. Blue signifies perseverance and justice.
Students will participate in a school-wide trivia game in the afternoon. The winning class will be announced at dismissal.
Day of Giving, noted above, will end at noon. Help us reach our goal of $10,000.
Thursday, February 3: Celebrating Vocations
Career Day. To celebrate future vocations students may dress up for their future careers.
Students will participate in Adoration.
Friday, February 4: Celebrating Faculty, Staff, and Volunteers
Teacher Swap. After Mass, teachers will swap classes and present a fun lesson or activity for the students in the room they are visiting.
Early dismissal at 11:30 a.m.
Saturday, February 5: Celebrating Families
Open House. Prospective families are invited to meet teachers, discover our classrooms, and learn more about what makes St. John the Evangelist School great! Interested families are encouraged to register for one of four sessions being offered.
