Forgotten Lunch Program
We feel it is important for all students to eat a well-rounded meal at lunchtime. If your child forgets a lunch and does not remember until lunchtime, they will be provided with a Forgotten Lunch. A Forgotten Lunch contains milk, apple juice or water, peanut butter, jelly or cheese sandwich, a Single serving of Applesauce or fruit cup, and a string cheese stick. We will provide your child with a “Forgotten Lunch” notice. Please have your child return the notice along with the $4.00 payment to the homeroom teacher.
Lunch/Milk, Water, Juice/Ice Cream service will begin Thursday, August 26th.
Virginia law requires that new students and students enrolling in kindergarten provide updated documentation of the Commonwealth of Virginia School Health Form signed by a health care official. Additionally, in accordance with the immunization requirements for the State of Virginia, all 7th-grade students must receive a Tdap booster before entering school in the fall. Please be aware that providing documentation of immunization is a necessary condition for enrollment. Should you have any questions about immunization requirements, please contact our school health coordinator, Shannon Lomax.
Criminal Background Checks for Volunteers & VIRTUS Requirements
As part of the diocesan initiative to maintain a safe environment for all of our children, all volunteers with children are required to complete a background check before volunteering in the school and to complete VIRTUS training. In accordance with diocesan policy, full compliance is required for adult parent volunteers who wish to participate. For this reason, parents who wish to attend field trips or volunteer in support of classroom activities or school events are required to complete the background check process and attend VIRTUS training. As we begin a new year, in accordance with diocesan policy, only those parents who have completed the criminal background check are eligible to volunteer in the school. The information can be found on the website here.
The dress code provides a standard for our students, fostering an environment conducive to learning and respectful behavior. Final decisions regarding the school uniform rest with the principal/administration. See attachments for details.
Please get in touch with the school office with any questions. Summer office hours (Tuesday-Thursday 9:00 am -Noon) will continue until Monday, August 16th, when we will resume 8 am-4 pm normal hours.
Enjoy the remaining summer days, and we look forward to the beginning of the 2021-2022 school year.
