PowerSchool SIS

PowerSchool is the student information system (SIS) the Diocese of Arlington Office of Catholic Schools uses to track student grades, attendance, enrollment, etc. The PowerSchool Parent Portal is a feature of PowerSchool that provides parents/guardians immediate access to grades, assignments, and attendance records in an effort to facilitate and improve communication between home and school.

To register for an account, parents/guardians may contact the office to request a student access key.

PowerSchool FAQs

What is the difference between PowerSchool and Schoology?

PowerSchool is a student information system (SIS) that contains the demographics of the student, parent info, emergency contact info, grades, enrollments, etc.  Schoology is a learning management system (LMS) that organizes all the digital elements of your student’s education. It allows student access to the most current course assignments, updates, calendars, and course materials. Parents can access Schoology through their accounts to monitor student progress (homework, overdue assignments, assignment grades, etc.), access school calendars and announcements, and participate in groups. For more information on Schoology, visit our Schoology page.

How do I update my contact information?

Parents/legal guardians can update their contact details and emergency contacts from the PowerSchool parent portal. Once logged in, go to the Forms page, and click on the [Diocese of Arlington] Student Contacts link.

Can I check PowerSchool from a mobile device?

Yes, you can access the PowerSchool parent portal from any computer with Internet access or through the PowerSchool Mobile App. Download the app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.

Our district code is RTCF – needed to log into the mobile app.

Is the SIS secure?

Yes, PowerSchool SIS requires a student access key for each child. Parents must keep the student’s access key, username, and password confidential. Only you and the school district employees associated with your child can access your child’s data.

Why haven’t I been receiving email from PowerSchool?

For email notifications, double-check your email address and notification settings.

You may want to add the email address powerschool@arlingtondiocese.org to the “allowed” email addresses list so PowerSchool emails can get through.

Check to see if the messages are going to your SPAM folder and choose to mark them as NOT SPAM. You will have to consult your email’s help menu or manual as it is different for every email program.

How often can we expect grades to be updated?

Teachers need time to grade projects, assignments, and tests. Teachers are expected to have new material and lesson plans ready for class each day. With that in mind, teachers need time to grade the assignments. Please be patient because many factors determine how soon a teacher can assess and return an assignment.

What should I do if I have a question about my childs grade?

Talk with your child first. If you still have questions, please email your child’s teacher directly. Please understand that due to the nature of the position, most teachers have little time to respond to emails during the school day.
